The earlier Crucifixion scene has been exposed from under a later layer with a Dormition scene (to the right).
The church of Agia Paraskevi, in the village of Geroskipou, near Pafos, western Cyprus, was built in the ninth century and dedicated to Parasceve, martyred in 180.
One of the most interesting and beautiful Byzantine churches in Cyprus. It dates to the 9th century and is a three-aisled five-domed basilica.
Its frescoes date from the 9th to the 15th centuries.

Compare this to the crowd at the Crucifixion, by Andreas Pavias, Crete, second half of the 15th century
This is at the same point in the Crucifixion - the breaking of legs, and angels collecting blood from Jesus' wound. The left-hand leg-breaker is in the same pose. Some western knights are among the crowd.
