Plate sixty-seven from the second volume of James Forbes' "Oriental Memoirs". Dhaboi had been made the winter quarters for the Bombay army during the Mahratta campaign in 1775 but within five years Dhaboi came under British control and in 1780, Forbes (1749-1819) was appointed Collector of Dhaboi.While stationed at Dhaboi, Forbes made extensive notes on the native inhabitants he saw there which included the religious mendicants, both Hindu and Muhammedan.
