Terracotta disc representing a Carthaginian cavalryman, 6th century BC. This image in relief, only 9mm (0.35in) wide, shows a nobleman riding bareback and accompanied by his dog. Even at this scale he can be seen to have a Greek helmet of some type, a spear and a round shield. Behind him is the symbol of the sun disc; ahead of him that of the lotus flower.
