Painting (watercolour). Folio 27 from an album showing Turkish costume. Şâtır başı, the superintendent of the Şâtırs who were running footmen and who accompanied the Sultan as part of his bodyguard, in processions or on campaign. Wearing the large hat which is of a 'lampshade' shape. Red mid-calf length white tunic, long cuffs.
