Painting (watercolour). Folio 37 from an album showing Turkish costume. Zülüflü baltacı, a class of palace guards who wore a 'love-lock' down each side of the face. A member of the Baltacıs, originally the woodcutters. Green kaftan tucked into a white belt, red ankle-length trousers. Tall brown hat with red brim tapering to a rounded end.
