Curator's comments:
Freed from imprisonment, the Iranian prince Isfandiyar joined his father in battle against the Turanians. Although wounded with an arrow by the Turanian Gurgsar, Isfandiyar lassoed his opponent, pulled him to the ground and dragged him to captivity. The soldiers on both sides wear the same type of helmet, but the more important positions of both Isfandiyar and Gurgsar are distinguished by their coats of mail, which stand in contrast to the sectional coats of the soldiers they lead.
