To avoid the bloodshed of battle, Alexander challenged King Fur of Hind (India) to single combat. Fur proved a formidable opponent, and Alexander began to fear for his life. Suddenly, a loud disturbance from the ranks distracts Fur. Fur turns his head toward the noise. Alexander charges forward and strikes the fatal blow with his sword.

Although the story is of an earlier period, the figures wear early 16th century Persian costume.
