SELECT BIBLIOGRAPHY
This is such a vast subject that there are literally thousands of books that could be consulted to advantage. So many original chronicles and sagas are available in translation that they are not included in this list, which is largely confined to those modern works which are likely to be of the greatest value to readers wishing to delve deeper still into Dark Age military history, and many contain extensive bibliographies of their own. The bibliography in ‘Armies of Feudal Europe’ should also be consulted.
