Scene is said to portray the flight of Muhammad ibn Suri, ruler of Ahangaran (now in modern Afghanistan), following his defeat at the hands of Mahmud ibn Sebuktegin, who was ruler of the Ghaznavid Dynasty of Eastern Afghanistan from 998-1030CE
